Butch

Butch is a ten year old German Shepherd Cross.  Butch was put into kennels when his owner went into hospital in August 2011. When his owner died at Christmas Butch was signed over to us.  Whilst Butch was sitting in kennels he became in quite  bad condition..  A lack of good food, exercise and no veterinary care had left him in a very poor state.  When we picked him up he could not walk properly and was very weak due to muscle wastage and his ribs were clearly visible. After 2 weeks of love and attention he has gained weight and became much healthier.  He went to the vet and received antibiotics for a wound on his leg and is now ready for a new home.

Butch is a lovely quiet boy.  He is a little nervous but very well behaved.  He gets on well with other dogs and would probably by OK with cats.  He likes children and shows no sign of being destructive.  He has obviously been housetrained but all the months in kennels have caused him to forget a bit of that training, however he is trying hard and mostly succeeding, the only accidents have been if he is left too long at night.   Butch is not keen on the car, but is getting used to it.

Butch is very loving and sings to you when you rub him under the chin.  He does not need a great deal of exercise but enjoys his walks and is good off the lead so long as he is not distracted by interesting sniffs.  He will make a lovely, loyal companion and deserves a new start.
